Maslow and Co is the latest beauty and wellness box to come up on my subscription radar. With location themed boxes you receive 6+ products that are a mix of full and sample size. This months theme was USA the west coast box and 6 products were included in the box local to the USA west coast.
The Products in the Maslow and Co box this month are focused on skin care and hair care, Heading into winter my skin and scalp both suffer so this box was perfectly targeted for this season. I took a different approach for the review of this box by including all the products in my daily routine instead of setting time aside to try them individually.
The Skin Care Products
After completely removing my make up I used the Marula foaming cleansing oil to cleanse as per the instructions, before bed and went to sleep. With a day off the next day I cleansed again this time I used the cleanser with my Purasonic and this really made a difference. A lot of foam but I could feel this difference and the sign of a pimple coming on was totally gone, BONUS!
The Fig and Yarrow clay mask recommends use with a plain yoghurt, honey, aloe or water. I mixed 2 teaspoons with a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of warm water. I choose honey because of the natural anti-bacterial properties and its acne killing skills, warm water helped blend it all and smooth it out. Once applied all over my face it took about 20 minutes to dry and start flaking off, I removed it all with a warm wash cloth. I followed the mask with the Fig and Yarrow Complexion Water lightly sprayed over my face and neck, scent Rose/Sandalwood/Neroli.
After using the cleansing oil and complexion water for a few days I noticed that my skin was less tired however I saw not difference in the smoothness of my skin.
The Milani Baked Blush in 08 Corallina is the standout product in this box. The perfect mix of pigment and highlight had me on the website to look at all the pretty colours and to make sure they are cruelty free (They Are!).
The Hair Care Products
I actually received two of the same box this month because the Earths Nectar mint leaves scalp oil decided to leak all through my box. I let Maslow and Co know and they sent me a second box which I was not expecting.
As I said earlier my scalp suffers during winter and I was excited to try this oil out. The bottle recommends washing it out of fine hair and having thick hair I decided not to. 6 hours later I was in the shower, my hair was too greasy to handle. I am going to try this product again as I saw benefits such as softer tips of my hair and less dryness around my hair-line, hopefully I will have more luck.
I used the Reverie Milk- Anti-frizz treatment a couple of days after the oil treatment to give my hair time to recover and Oh-My-Gosh I will be buying this product. After washing my hair I ran it through my wet hair and let dry naturally. Usually I have this huge lions mane of hair when I let it dry naturally but anti-frizz is an understatement, I can’t find the words to describe it but my hair turned into the hair I wish I always had when it dried naturally.
Maslow and Co is a higher priced box at $58 as of 1/7/16 however this evens out as it is a bi-monthly box. The quality and story of the products work so well together that I don’t even blink at the cost. The next box is themed USA East Coast and you can sign up here.
