This week I was sent Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo to review, it arrived with perfect timing on hair wash Wednesday and I was more than ready to try it. Co-Created by Yuko Yamishta, Sunsilk Perfect Straight shampoo and condition has a light floral scent that stays on the hair after you wash and wear. Sunsilk Perfect Straight “Seals in straightness” thanks to the “Shampoo and Conditioner help(ing) to manage and maintain the straight shape of your hair as it dries”.
Both the Sunsilk Perfect Straight shampoo and conditioner come in opaque purple bottles with easy to open caps and luckily for me they have the squeeze only exit so if I knock it over there is no waste. The shampoo is a thick pearlescent liquid that really foams up and provides more than enough to wash your hair with the smallest amount. The conditioner surprised me by being very liquid like and not at all thick like most conditioners, as a result I ended up using more that I usually would because it was just running off my hair.
Both the conditioner and shampoo easily washed out of my hair and did not leave any residue in my hair. After washing I left my hair to dry naturally overnight while I slept (Gasp!), usually I would wake up with a bird’s nest do and curls that have their own curls. Instead My hair was wavy and easy to brush into a knot free hair down style.
So what do I think of Sunsilk Perfect Straight?
I really like the weightlessness it gives my hair and that it removed the need for me to blow dry my hair when I wash it. The consistency of the conditioner freaked me out and I didn’t like how much I had to use to get coverage across my hair, However I really liked the result my hair is smooth and isn’t knotting as much as it usually would. I straightened my hair the day after and it helped to cut straightening time and my hair has remained straight 3 days later.
I rate this a 4/5 the shampoo and conditioner achieve what they set out to do. If I were going for a consistent straight look I would reach for this Sunsilk Perfect Straight because I know it works.
Have you tried perfect straight yet? It is available in your local supermarkets now. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
