Last month I signed up for Loot Crate, mostly because it promised me a Harry Potter themed item and I needed that in my life. Full disclosure: If it’s Harry Potter themed I really need it all the time.
What is a Loot Crate?
Loot Crate is a monthly “themed mystery box of the best geek, gaming, and pop culture gear” aka one of the most amazing subscription boxes on the market. Each month has a different theme and this month the box promised Vikings, Labyrinth and Harry Potter themed merchandise.
For my first Loot Crate this was a total winner, A viking chalice, Labyrinth T-shirt and Harry Potter Horcrux socks stuck with the main theme lines in the box. A D20 ice mold (can also be used for chocolate), an uncharted poster and a loot pin, I received the golden variant; Lucky!!
The viking “drinking horn” aka chalice comes with a strap so I can’t lose it which is handy. They also included a couple of drink recipes to test out and as soon as I have 2 days off in a row that is going to happen! The Labyrinth t-shirt is actually decent quality which is nice, it’s a large and it fits! usually sizing with these boxes can be a bit off.
The ice mold is pretty awesome, I tried it with water and food dye to make ice first and it is currently sitting in my fridge with chocolate in it. The Harry Potter Horcrux socks are a little on the thin side but I love them anyway because Harry Potter.
The loot pin is the golden variant and has a picture of a D20 shield tieing it in with the box nicely. The uncharted poster I don’t really have an opinion on and will probably give away. For my first Loot Crate I am really happy with everything in it, I have a 3 month subscription so expect another 2 reviews on this type of box.
The Loot Crate subscription is $28 inc postage if you live locally, Australian price is $39 a month. You can save $5 and try out Loot Crate by clicking THIS LINK.
