How to Have the Best New Year’s Eve Ever.

Posted on

With New Year’s Eve 30 days away I can guarantee your friends will start trying to lock in plans with you. This year I am throwing a party instead of having to find somewhere, book tickets and haul ass into the city.

There is a saying that the way you spend New Year’s Eve is the way you will spend the rest of the new year. While I have never found any truth to this saying many of my friends strive to create the best New Years Ever each and every year just so the next year will be great.

I firmly believe life is what you make it and what you do on New Year’s Eve is unlikely to impact the rest of your year. However, having a great time on New Year’s Eve is something I can get behind so here is how to have the best New Year’s Eve ever.

How to have the best New Year’s Eve ever!

New Year's Eve

Firstly, Surround your self with people you actually enjoy hanging out with. Chances are that if you see or speak to someone on a weekly basis they are the people you want to spend new years with.

Try something new. You may love it, you may hate it but whatever you try will make this night memorable. Don’t know what to try? Head somewhere new, eat/ drink something different or try a new/ bold fashion choice.

Location, Location, Location. I sound like a real estate add but location can play a big part of your night. Hate the city? Don’t go in, I promise it will ruin your night. Head to the beach or stay in suburbia.

Get your boogie on. I don’t know about you but I love to dance. I’m the type of dancer you hate, the one who takes up the floor. Everyone loves to dance even if they re not good at it so make sure you have a dance.

Eat a decent meal before you go out. Chips will not sustain you and it may be 3am before you find yourself seeking out a souvlaki nearby.

Have a partial plan of where you are sleeping and how you are getting there. Remember Taxi’s, Ubers and public transport are hard to come by on nights like this, make some sort of plan for what is going to happen when the party ends. You may not be able to get home at 12:10 on New Years Day but 5 am is achievable.

Have a sports drink or water in the fridge for when you make it home. You will be glad for it the next morning even if you’re not consuming alcohol.

New Year’s Eve is what you make it but if you include the above you are well on the way to making it the best New Year’s Eve ever.
