Beauty Swap! with Beauty As I Know It.

Beauty Swap with beauty as i know it

In January I signed up for a beauty swap organised by Oh So Glam. The criteria were simple

  1. leave a comment below with your email, blog url and twitter username.
  2. Budget was: £15-£20 (or equivalent in your local currency AUD $30-$50)
  3. Send your items for swap and then blog away!

I was paired with Nicola from Beauty As I know It blog and after a bit of chatting I knew exactly what I was going to send for this beauty swap. While Nicole told me she loved all makeup she told me that blush & lipsticks always won her heart and that she  would love to try a brand that is only available in Australia. Keeping in mind that some make up you cannot send internationally I set out to hunt Aussie brands.

So whats in the Beauty Swap?

Being Australian is not easy when it comes to make up. Most of our make up has to be imported and it costs a small fortune! Luckily with brands like Face of Australia, Australis and Cosmetic Kitchen I had a decent amount of make-up to choose from. I’m not going to blog about what I sent so I don’t ruin the surprise!

My package arrived a couple of days ago and I opened it straight away! Being open to all new makeups I mentioned that I love illuminators, tinted lip balms and occasionally fake tan and Nicola did not disappoint!

Beauty Swap Haul

The Makeup Academy Shimmer Highlighter is by far my favourite product that I received in this beauty swap, it arrived just as my current one it down to the edges, talk about timing! It has a soft pink colour with an almost white shimmer to it and I am in LOVE.

Coming a tied second as favourite item are the Powerbrow Shape+Highlighter also by Makeup Academy and the Oh So Special Palette by Sleek. People say the eyes are the window to the soul yet they still remain neglected when considering your next make up buy, were all guilty of it!  I believe your eyes and brows are a set, if you’re putting make up on one then the other must be done also! hence the tied second favourite. The powerbrow pencil is so easy to use, its creamy and you don’t need much to get a great fill, the highlighter end is an extra bonus. With it I used the Sleek palette colours Bow, Ribbon, Pamper and Gateau to do a pink toned light on smokey eye.

Everyday Aimee Beauty

I also received Ponds Institute Hydro Nourishing  moisturizer, Ponds Institute Cold Cream, Rodial 5 minute facial samples and Enzyme Peel Mask.

Have you done a beauty swap before? Is there a product you know you would send?! Let me know in the comments.
