Working in retail I see a lot of new beauty products come through. Having made the decision to go cruelty-free the brands we stock are ones I will not buy. Australis is a brand that I will buy and it has fast become a beloved Australian brand again. With glitter eyes all over social media, how could I resist grabbing the Guns and Rose Petals Metallix Eyeshadow? From the outside, this product looks like it’s a foil-like product. I was expecting it to be like gold foil flakes. I had no idea how I was going to use this eyeshadow and I was a little concerned. When I opened it I found a metallic eye cream and I have to admit, I was relieved.
Australis Metallix Eyeshadow Guns and Rose Petals
This product came out in 2016 but didn’t hit a lot of stores until 2017. It comes in your basic metallic colours like gold, rose gold, bronze but the full range has 9 colours including blues and purples. With every colour in this range each named after an amazing artist or band this whole line, everything about this line is amazing.
The Metallix Eyeshadow is easy to use, I tried it as an all over eye cover but found it to be really sticky. I found the best use for this eyeshadow is as an eye highlight or to do a metallic winged eyeliner. The only downside to this product is that it is really difficult to remove.
Each eyeshadow is just 1.9 grams which seems like a small amount of product. I can assure you that with this eyeshadow a little goes a long way. The most reliable stockist of the Metallix Eyeshadow is the Australis website. You can purchase it from it anywhere that Australis is stocked. Prices start from $9.49 and vary per retailer.
